The two pasts

Also called Valid time and transaction time.

The two timelines a record about a person needs: what was true, and what was believed at the time. Without the second, a correction cannot be distinguished from a rewrite, and a person asking why they were told what they were told gets today’s answer delivered with the confidence once given to the answer now erased.
